Assistant Coach Leon Holladay

Coach Holladay has a long history with the Coral Reef Barracudas. As a past president of the Barracuda Diamond Club, he has been here since the program’s inception. His son Jason also played for the Barracudas (Class of 2001). Coach Holladay brings an abundance of coaching experience to the program. He headed the JV squad this year and coached first base for the varsity. His expertise lies in his ability to communicate with players and inspire them to play competitively and with determination.

Assistant Coach Wayne Hendricks

As an instrumental addition to the Barracuda coaching staff, Coach Hendricks is an experienced practice and game coach. He has led teams to titles in the Howard-Palmetto Khoury league and has handles outstanding travel teams from 13-under to 18-under divisions. He was on the 1991 Southridge team that went to the Florida state championship, playing along side current major leaguer Shannon Stewart (Minnesota Twins). Coach Hendricks handles the third base coaching duties and works with the hitters on offense. He is also heavily involved with handling the infield defensive scheme for the Barracudas.

Assistant Coach Frank Castro

Coach Frank Castro started as a volunteer coach two seasons ago when his son Spencer was on the 16-Under team. Frankie’s roots are deep when it comes to baseball. He is a former 1st round draft pick by the San Diego Padres out of the University of Miami. He played several years professionally and has outstanding instincts for the game.  Frank not only instructs on all phases of the game, working with all our players, but  also he provides a unique understanding of the focus and maturity young players need to develop and get the most out of their talent. He manages a summer Connie Mack team where several of the varsity players have an opportunity to get high quality instruction and playing time.

Mo Blanco, Head Coach, South Florida Travel Team

Mo Blanco has been involved in the Barracuda baseball program for the past four years. He has worked as an assistant to JV Coach Holladay, but last season took over the helm of the Barracudas 16-Under entry in the South Florida Travel baseball league. Mo has a rich background in youth baseball. He served as the Commissioner of the Perrine Khoury League and has led many summer travel teams in tournaments around the country. Mo intends to coach at Coral Reef even though his, Mo Blanco, graduated after the 2006 season.
